ScreenshotIT processes screenshots locally in your browser. It does not upload screenshots, collect personal data, use analytics or create an account.
What ScreenshotIT processes
When you choose to capture, paste or upload an image, ScreenshotIT temporarily processes that image so you can crop, annotate and protect information. It may also temporarily process annotation objects, protection areas, undo history and locally recognised text when local scanning is used.
How information is used
This temporary information is used only to provide the editing and export features you request. Processing occurs on your device inside the extension.
Information collection and sharing
ScreenshotIT does not collect, transmit, sell or share screenshots, website content, recognised text, personal information or usage information. It includes no telemetry, analytics, advertising, tracking, remote logging or cloud processing.
Storage and retention
Images and editing-session data are held in memory only for the active session. ScreenshotIT does not save original images, screenshot history, recognised text or editor history in browser storage. Starting over or closing the editor clears the active session. A PNG is saved or copied only when you explicitly choose an export action.
Browser permissions
activeTab provides temporary access to the current tab after you start a capture. scripting displays the temporary area-selection overlay when you choose Capture area. ScreenshotIT requests no persistent website access or host permissions.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
ScreenshotIT's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide the extension's single-purpose screenshot capture, editing, protection and export features.
Changes to this policy
Material changes will be reflected on this page and in the extension's release notes. ScreenshotIT will not introduce cloud processing, analytics or new data collection without clearly updating its disclosures first.
